Independent Kazakh Agency for Quality Assurance in Education (IQAA) is taking part and is a local coordinator of the Erasmus+ project named "Promoting internationalization of research through establishment and operationalization of Cycle 3 Quality Assurance System in line with the European Integration" C3QA. This project is co-funded by the European Union.

Aim of the project - to contribute to the establishment of a knowledge-based society in Armenia, Kazakhstan, Mongolia and Ukraine through the launch and operationalization of a robust quality assurance system for internationalization of Cycle 3 programs

Specific objectives of the project:

- To develop/update national policy frameworks for cycle 3 programs in line with the European integration agenda;

- To build on the capacity of the systems to efficiently operationalize the internal and external quality assurance systems for Cycle 3 programs;

- To establish an external and internal quality assurance systems to promote quality of Cycle 3 programs (leading to PhD degree);

- To promote internationalization of Cycle 3 programs with joint efforts of the key stakeholders and cross-regional cooperation.

C3QA is specifically aimed at development and operationalization of EQA and IQA systems to promote establishment of a knowledge-based society in Armenia, Kazakhstan, Mongolia and Ukraine. To align with European integration agenda, ENQA Standards in Quality Assurance and, most importantly, Salzburg Principles will be applied. The project methodology relies on the following three phases:

Phase I - project first year will be dedicated to building institutional capacities of PC HEIs development and operationalization of EQA and IQA systems. This phase will entail greatest engagement of university stakeholders, both internal and external. Purchase of necessary equipment as well as launch of structural measures is also envisioned in year 1.

Phase II - starting from the second half of the first year the project will mostly focus on the conceptualization, formulation and pilot of EQA and IQA policies and procedures for cycle 3 programs.

Phase III - the final project year will be devoted to "piloting" the previously developed policies, procedures and structures through the preparation and external evaluation of selected cycle 3 programs.
